When I think of spa days, all I would think of how expensive they could be, however, they don’t always have to be that way because you can have your own right at home!
I feel that spa days are essential when it comes to pampering yourself. Once you successfully had a spa day, you’ll feel rejuvenated and refreshed!
If you’ve had a tough week and you’ve started to feel lifeless and depleted, a spa day is just what you need.
Just get your music and mimosas ready… only if you’re of age. If you are not old enough to have an alcoholic beverage, keep reading and you’ll find that you can have a good drink too!
What are some things to do during a home spa day?
You can do a steam treatment and face mask, a foot soak, deep condition your hair, take a detox bath, or even drink fruit infused water… the options are endless!
Fruit-infused water or better known as detox water can benefit you in so many ways ranging from weight loss all the way up to help your skin achieve that healthy glow!
Below, I’ve listed a few fruit-infused water recipes and what you can achieve by drinking them.
Side note: I still highly encourage you to drink the number of recommended glasses of water daily. Also, I recommend you to use organic produce when making your infused water. Be sure to rinse/wash all of your produce!
Lemon water is great for weight loss and improving the quality of your skin because of the vitamin c found in it. Also, it aids in digestion. I feel it’s best to drink lemon water warm.
- Warm water
- Lemon slices
Let the lemon slices soak in the water for two to five hours and enjoy!
Cinnamon apple water has nutrients in it to boost your immune system and sometimes people refer to it as the drink to help you get a flat stomach!
- 5 thin apple slices
- 1 or 2 cinnamon sticks (depends on how strong you want the flavor to be!)
Lemon water with mint and blueberries is good for controlling your appetite, boosts your energy, and weight management!
- 5 mint leaves
- 1 lemon sliced thinly
- 1 cup of blueberries
- Ice (recommended)
Another thing you can do is steam your face. You can follow these few steps to get the maximum results out of caring for your skin during your spa day. Steam your face, cleanse, and apply a face mask.
Steaming your face opens your pores which will help the cleanser penetrate into your skin to help get all of that gunk out of your pores.
I personally think that it does justice and helping the face mask work as well. If you have the time, always steam your face before doing your skin-care routine.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a face steamer at home, you can still steam your face by boiling water, pouring it into a bowl, put a towel over your head, and hold your face over the bowl full of steaming water. If you don’t have any face masks at home, you can DIY one!

Let’s face the facts, as women, we spend so much money going to the nail salon when we can do the same thing at home for half the price!
I typically spend $50 in one trip to the nail salon and if I get my eyelashes done, I spend $60.
Let me break down my nail shop expenses;
- Nails – $20
- Feet – $22
- Eyebrows – $8
- Eyelashes – $10
As you can see, that adds up! Just one trip to the nail shop hurts my pockets. Why keep spending all that money when you can do it for less at home?
All it takes is a few words on YouTube, and you can learn how to do all this at home.
Before you add any nail polish to your nails or toes, you need to soak them first! Then, you can exfoliate. Doing so will help remove any dead skin hanging on which will make your hands and feet super soft.
When it comes to nail polish colors, I think you should pick something bright and fun to go with the season.
Oh, how I love a good detox bath!
They’re so therapeutic and they can help in pulling toxins out of your body.
If you are a spiritual person like myself, then you would know doing a detox bath could help you get your frequency higher because it’s like you’re pulling out all the negativity and things that may drain and upset you.
My favourite detox bath is the bentonite clay and lavender one. All you have to do is add bentonite clay, lavender essential oil, and Epsom salt to your bath and sit for at least half an hour.
The bentonite clay will be pulling all those toxins out your body while the lavender oil acts as a relaxer. This bath will have you feeling like a new woman!
Enjoy your inexpensive spa day right from the comfort of your own home. I get that we all don’t have the funds to splurge on a spa day when we need one.
You can do this on a Sunday when you need a refresher before the week starts or you can do it once your week is over. Better yet, you can do both!
Why not spoil yourself?
You deserve it!
